Wyngold Brittanys Established 1976

To introduce ourselves we have set up several pages
with photos of our dogs past & present along with those of happy puppy buyers. But first a little about us.... I started in dogs as a junior exhibitor back in 1969 and in my doggy endeavors of obedience trial competition, and conformation shows became hooked on the Brittany when a fellow Junior handler allowed me to own one for myself in 1976! Since then the rest as they say is history.
With that first dog I learned about Field trialing and how NOT to train a bird dog. Unfortunately that first dog had some serious health problems which made me realize how
important getting a sound dog is when competing in the field on a regular basis. This soon lead me on a course of selecting OFA certified and generally healthy dogs to start my own breeding program, but they also HAD to have natural hunting ability and an intense pointing ability. Finding the right dogs was a difficult task as we were living in Hawaii in those days and had to deal with breeders reluctant to ship a dog into Hawaii's 120 day quarantine for rabies. In 1991 we relocated to the beautiful Central Oregon area of Bend. Here, the foundation dogs that came with me felt right at home on the lava rock and cinder rock hillsides. The game birds are plentiful but with a slightly different variety to work with. In Hawaii we hunted Erkel & Gray Francolin, a variety of Pheasants, Chukar, and Gambel's Quail, and even a fall Turkey season for using dogs. Here in Central Oregon we enjoyed some forest expeditions for Ruffed Grouse, and trekking across wide open lands for Hungarian Partridge, and the same hill climbing jaunts for Chukar and the elusive Ringneck, and in out backyard California Valley Quail as our routine training birds.
Please take a look at the following pages for more on our dogs and breeding goals......
